Business:
Email Requirements
1 Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp. Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps. Applicants within Houston jurisdiction must provide two blank visa pages side by side.
2 Visa Application Form: The Brazilian government has introduced a web-based visa application form. To fill in the on-line form select “Visa Request” and follow the steps. Every question must be answered. Print two copies of the completed form, sign and include with the materials sent to Travisa for processing. The form will expire within 30 days; the application must be submitted within that time or a new form must be completed on-line and printed. The Brazilian Consulates will only accept web-based application forms.
3 Photo Requirements: One recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
4 Other Forms: A copy of applicant driver’s license. Please enlarge for clarity. Address on driver’s license must match address on visa application form.
Applicants within Chicago jurisdiction only: Completed and signed Sworn Statement Waiver. Failure to complete this form and enclose it with your application materials will delay the processing of your visa.
5 Official Invitation: For applicants within Houston and Atlanta jurisdictions: A letter of invitation from sponsor (either host company or individual) explaining the relationship to the applicant, the purpose of travel and indicating the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information. For applicants within Chicago jurisdiction A letter of invitation from sponsor may be requested by the consulate. In such cases, this letter must be notarized in Brazil. A copy can be submitted if the seal from the Brazilian notary is legible.
6 Business Letter: Original letter from employer or sponsoring company, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Brazil. It is extremely important that the business letter includes the statement that "no technical work or assistance" will be provided during stay in Brazil. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in host country. For applicants within Miami and Atlanta jurisdictions: Business letter must be notarized.
7 Proof Of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets.
8 Medical Requirements: Yellow fever vaccination certificate if applicant has traveled within the last 90 days to Angola, Benin, Bissau Guinea, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guiana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda or Venezuela.

Visa Validity: Business visas (Temp II) can be issued for up to 5 years (in San Francisco visas are issued for up to 2 years) and allow a maximum stay of 90 days per entry. The validity is always at the discretion of the consulate. First entry into Brazil must take place within 90 days from date of visa issuance.

Failure to complete the required form and enclose it with your application materials will delay the processing of your visa.
5 Official Invitation: for applicants in Chicago Jurisdiction only:A host letter is required for individuals traveling to Brazil as tourists who are not staying in a hotel. The letter must be provided by the host(s) in Brazil, addressed to the Consulate of Brazil in Chicago and signed and stamped with seal by a Cartório (Notary) in Brazil. The letter must contain the following information about the host in Brazil:
(1) Full name(s),
(2)Complete address and contact information,
(3) Host’s ID number if Brazilian citizen or visa status and nationality if not a citizen,
(4)Reason why the host is living or staying in Brazil (if not a Brazilian citizen),
(5)Host’s relationship to the applicant (including explanation for how they know eachother),
(6) Profession or occupation,
(7) Employer's name,
(8) Explanation of the purpose of the visit.
This letter can be written in English or Portuguese. A copy can be submitted if the seal from the Brazilian notary is legible.
6 Proof Of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline or cruise tickets.
7 Minors: A child (under 18) must provide a copy of the birth certificate and a notarized Letter of Consent signed by each parent listed on the birth certificate (or legal guardian) authorizing the Brazilian consulate to issue a visa to the minor. Proof of guardianship must be submitted if applicable. Both letter of consent and guardianship document must be authenticated by the Consular Service of the Brazilian Consulate.
Los Angeles jurisdiction: requires the original certified birth certificate.
Houston jurisdiction: requires (in addition to the above):
- 2 application forms, each signed by both parents and notarized.
- Notarized copy of minor's birth certificate.
- Letter of Consent completed in duplicate with two photos attached.
- For children 3 months to 6 years old, a certificate of vaccination against polio.
These requirements must be submitted even if child is traveling with both parents.

Atlanta and Washington DC jurisdictions: Consulates in Washington DC and Atlanta jurisdictions may in some circumstances request evidence of sufficient funds to support stay in destination such as pay stubs, traveler’s cheques, and/or most recent bank statement. In Washington DC this is required for applicants who are entering and departing Brazil by land.

Document Legalization:Applicant's Birth Certificate and Good Conduct Record must be authenticated (legalized) by the Brazilian Embassy prior to the processing of the visa.
The total fees for the authentication of these documents are: Brazil Consulate Authentication Fee - $30.00; Travisa Service Fee for Document Authentication - $54.00 ($32.00 for first document and $22.00 for any additional documents.) These fees are in addition to the Consular Fees and Travisa Service Fees for the processing of the Student visa. Please include these fees in your total payment to Travisa. Applicants within Chicago jurisdiction only: Completed and signed Sworn Statement Waiver. 5 Official Invitation: Photocopy of the school registration or confirmation of acceptance, including address/names/qualifications of responsible parties in Brazil.

7 Criminal Record: Good conduct record issued by the local (i.e., applicant's place of residence) police department/authority. Applicants within Los Angeles jurisdiction must provide a notarized copy of this document.
