Business:
Email Requirements
1 Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months from day of application, and with at least two blank visa pages. Amendment pages are not acceptable for visa stamps.
2 Visa Application Form: One visa application form per applicant. Application must be completed on-line, then printed and signed by applicant.
3 Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
4 Other Forms: Proof of residential address in the United States (clear copy of applicant driver’s license, utility bill or phone bill.) Address on the document must match address on the visa application form.
5 Official Invitation: A letter of invitation from sponsor (either host company or individual) explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel. In addition, the letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, and contact information. The invitation should also confirm the validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year).
6 Business Letter: Letter from employer or sponsoring company in the United States, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to India. Detailed contact information for the organizations to be visited must be included. The business letter must also state the validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year) and indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant.
7 Special Instructions: Persons of Indian Origin applying for a visa for the FIRST time on any US passport must submit their Indian passport and a completed Renunciation Form. Persons of Indian Origin who have held an Indian visa in a previous US passport must submit the expired/cancelled US passport.

In case of admission in medical or paramedical courses in India, a letter of Approval or No objection certificate from the Ministry of Health, Government of India, is also required.
Similarly, for admission to graduate or post-graduate courses in engineering/ technical institutions in India, a letter of approval or a No objection certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education) is required.

Organization Registration: Proof that the organization is registered in India, provided by the Indian employer.

Visa Validity: This visa is issued at the discretion of the visa officer. Visas are generally issued for one entry for and allow a period of stay determined by the Indian Government. The visa will be valid beginning on the day it is issued. For example, a 6 month visa issued on January 1st would be valid until June 30th.
Processing Time: The processing time may take up to 6 months or longer for the Consulate to determine whether the visa will be issued.
